Ilam, April 14: An agreement has been reached for the construction of an irrigation project at Mahamai Village Development Committee (VDC) of the district. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 290 million.
The farmers of some 1,250 households from Ward Number 1 to 9 of the VDC would be benefitted after the completion of the project. It will irrigate 1,150 hectares of land in the VDC.
A large tract of land at Mahamai VDC went uncultivated for lack of irrigation facility. The local users’ committee and the Irrigation Development Division Office signed an agreement for the irrigation project.
