Hail stone damages oranges, winter crops in Kaski

Pokhara, March 31: Oranges and winter crops in dozen of VDCs in the district have been destroyed by hailstone on Wednesday. The hailstone damaged crops worth over 10 million rupees. The storm accompanied by hailstone and rainfall caused huge damage to the crop and orange plants.
The flowers of oranges, winter crops including vegetables at Kristinachne Chaur, Bharatpokhari, Pumdibhumdi among other places have been damaged. Farmers in the areas are still assessing the damage and reeling under the pain as their crops were wiped out just before the harvesting period and as the orange trees had just began to bloom.
