Bhimduttanagar, Feb 3: Minister for Agriculture Development Gaurishankar Chaudhary has said a Peasants’ Commission would be formed within a week.
During his visit to a three-day national organic agro festival kicked off here Friday, the Minister said the government was forming the Commission for the welfare and rights of peasants.
Only 12 percent of total’s arable land in the country has irrigation facility, he said, adding that agro sector would make a u-turn if the irrigation system is ensured in all areas.
The festival jointly organised by the Far-Western Regional Agriculture Directorate, Dipayal, and District Agricultural Development Office has showcased 120 stalls of agro produce.
