Kathmandu, June 28: Banana farmer Kalu Hamal of Kailali is to be honoured with this years’ President best farmer Award. The award carries a purse of Rs 200,000.
He is the first recipient of the award. Minister for Agriculture Development Hari Prasad Parajuli will present the award on June 30 on the occasion of paddy day, according to Chief of the Agriculture Business Promotion Division Sunil Singh.
Similarly, Chandralal Tamang, a cardamom farmer, pig farmer Chhayam Bahdur Tamang, fish farmer Chayadatta Bhusal and floriculturist Prakash Panta would be awarded with Rs 100,000 cash prize on the occasion.
