Tulsipur (Dang), March 17: Farmers from the VDCs including Gobardiha, Gangaparaspur, Bela, Rajpur and Gadhwal of Dang district have been worried over the lack of market for sugarcane. A sugarcane farmer from Gadhwa, Mahesh Yadav, said as many as 90 farmers growing sugarcane in 100 bighas of land were waiting for the marketing of their product. They have harvested 400 quintals of sugarcane all on the fields.

The farmers grew much concerned after a local Mahalaxmi Sugar Mill was closed. The commercial farming has been risked now. The victim farmers have therefore demanded the government that it managed selling their products. Even a seven-member struggle committee has been formed under the coordination of Ram Laxman Saha in order to build pressure on the concerned agencies.
