JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Program

Obihiro,Japan 16 Jan, . JICA is supporting developing countries including Nepal continually. In the Development Cooperation Charter of Japan, it has been mentioned that “In its development cooperation, Japan has maintained the spirit of jointly creating things that suit partner countries while respecting ownership, intentions and intrinsic characteristics of the country concerned based on a field-oriented approach through dialogue and collaboration. It has also maintained the approach of building reciprocal relationships with developing countries in which both sides learn from each other and grow and develop together.”It was believed that KCCP will serve as a center of mutual learning process.jika

Under this KCCP, “Local Industry Development in Agricultural Regions by Strengthening Capacity of Management and Marketing” is going on at JICA Center Obihiro, Japan from 13 January 2016 and will run till 13 February 2016. In the training JICA has invited 18 participants from 16 Countries including Nepal. Nepal has nominated Mr. Arun GC from Ministry of Agricultural Development to participate in the program. Other participants countries are Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cote D’ Ivoire, El Salvador, Georgia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Nigeria, Peru, South Africa and Zambia.

The main objective of the program is to capacitate central and local governments and personnel for income generation in rural area. The training course has been designed to impart marketing knowledge and skills which was found main reason behind not achieving desired level of satisfaction in One Village One Product like useful programs. By the same time, participating countries will share their experiences and good practices. Nepal has already presented its country paper in the program to share its current agriculture systems.
