Fertilizer shortage hits Kaski farmers

krishilogoPokhara (Kaski), Nov 19: Locals are facing shortage of chemical fertilizers in the district due to the border blockade by India. The Agriculture Inputs Company Limited, Branch office Manager Shaligram Wagle shared the problem of shortage. He added that the stores of the company were empty for a month.

Wagle further said the 100 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer imported and brought through security escorting were provided to all cooperatives two months ago, and since then they are failing to continue the supplies to the farmers due to blockade. With the shortage of different chemical fertilizers, the production of winter crops is bound to go down, it is learnt. Farmers are compelled to return empty-handed from the depot these days.
