KU collaborates with Korean University for the study of organic farming

Korean Ambassador-1Kathmandu, Feb 11: The Kathmandu University and Chonbuk National University have today agreed to collaborate to run classes for modern organic farming in Nepal. Both the universities target to produce skilled human resources by running classes of Masters’ Degree from this academic year. At a programme organised here today, Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, Choe Yong-jin said that there was better possibilities of organic farming in Nepal due to its climate and bio-diversity. He also expressed the belief that this collaboration would help to take the educational and friendly relations of the two countries to the people’s level.
Similarly, Registrar of the Kathmandu University, Bhola Thapa, said that the university collaborated with a university in Korea with the policy of teaching new subject as per the demand of students and time. Professor at the Chonbuk National University, Bayung Taek Oha said that the laboratories and technology would be provided for the study. An assistance totaling Rs 58.8 million would be provided through Korea International Cooperation Agency to undertake the project.
