POISON KILLS FISH WORTH RS 500,000

Gaushala, Feb 6: The supply of poison to a pond in Prakauli VDC-5 of Mahottari last night has destroyed fish worth Rs 500,000. According to the Mahottari District Police Office, the pesticides flown to the pond by an unidentified group last night has caused damages of six quintals fish worth around Rs 500,000. The pond sprawled over a bigha of land has diverse species of fishes kept for commercial purpose, said Bajrang Yadav, owner of the fish pond. Victim Yadav demanded police administration to arrest and take strong action against culprits. DSP Lokendra Shrestha of District Police Office, Mahottari said search for the group throwing poison to the fish pond is underway.
