Morang self-sufficient in milk production

Biratnagar, Jan 14: Morang district has become self-dependant in milk production after the local farmers started rearing hybrid and improved breeds of cows and buffalos for milk.The district produced 129,839 metric tonnes of milk annually from 109, 962 cows and buffalos, according to District Livestock Service Office, Morang.Farmers in the district preferred rearing hybrid cows more as compared to the buffalos. Milk production from cow was 101,629 litres and from buffaloes only 28,000 litres daily.
