Orange production sees new low in Dadeldhura

Dadeldhura, Dec 31: The production of orange in Dadeldhura district has been seeing a new low over the last few years, owing to unfavourable climate and various diseases, the agro experts here stated.According to the agriculture technicians, the district has seen 50 per cent less production in the recent years as the farmers have not been availing micro nutrients for the orange plant and fungicides against the greening virus.

            Earlier, the farmers in the mountainous districts of the Far-west used to fetch a handsome income from orange farming, but they are worried given the declining production.Farmers here are further worried as the orange plants are also wilting.
