Dhading, Oct. 27: Paddy and millet crops in various places of Dhading and Nuwakot districts have been destroyed by the hailstones accompanied by storm.
Farmers are worried as their crops were destroyed during harvest time in Jyamrung, Tripureswor, Salyankot, Aginchok, Salyantar, and Katunje, last evening. More than 50 percent paddy and millet has been destroyed by the hailstones, said Ex-VDC Chairman of Jyamrung VDC Dambar Bahadur Adhikari.
It has also destroyed rice in 300 ropanies of land in Sankosh Khursani Kharka of Nilkantha Municipality as well as in adjoining Taruka VDC and Dui Piple of Nuwakot.
It is also destroyed in Kholbesi, Simlebesi and adjoining areas of Nuwakot and farmers are also worried from the destruction.
It can invite food crisis among farmers this year as more than 50 percent crops have been damaged, said Keshav Prasad Dhungana from Nuwakot
