Pathari, Dec 31: The number of people drawn towards commercial vegetable farming has now increased in Morang district due to the subsidies provided by the government to farmers for vegetable cultivation. Youths have been attracted towards vegetable farming after the government started providing Rs 60,000 grant to each youth involved in vegetable farming and Rs 40,000 grant to each involved in mushroom farming.Chief at the District Agriculture Development Office, Morang, Rajendra Upreti, said that Rs 60,000 each was provided to 45 youths involved n commercial vegetable farming last year.
As many as 33 VDCs including Madhumalla, Pathari, Shanischare, Urlabari, Jate, Bhogateni, Itahara, Sauta, Sijuwa, Sundarpur, Dulari, Sisabani Badahara and Sidra have now started commercial vegetable farming, added Upreti. RSS
